What is Spray Foam Insulation?
Foamed polyisocyanurate (foamed polyurethane) is one of the most versatile products available for residential construction. It’s used to insulate and air seals any room in the house, including the attic, basement, garage, and crawl space.
Foams are used to insulate buildings and homes against heat loss and gain. They can be made from polyurethane (PU), polystyrene (PS), or expanded polystyrene (EPS). PU foams are typically water-based and EPS foams are oil-based. Both kinds of foams come in various densities. For example, a 1-inch thick wall would require about 5 gallons of either type of PU or EPS depending upon density.
Fully trained and -certified installers use professional equipment to make the spray-foamed insulation on-site.

Why Choose Spray Foam?
One of the best features of spray polyurethane foam (SPF) is its ability to create a tight seal. This is great for sealing out cold drafts and preventing water vapor transfer into your attic. SPF can also help keep your house warmer during the winter months. In addition, SPF can help prevent condensation inside your attic space.
Spray Foam Insulation Costs
For most people, calculating the cost of spray foam involves multiplying the size of the room by the cost per square inch of spray foam. To get an idea of how much you might spend, just multiply the size of the room (square feet) times the cost per square inch.
Insulating your house can be expensive. It depends on how many rooms you need insulated, but prices vary widely depending on which company you use.
To understand better, let us consider the following example where we do some simple math. You determine that you must insulate the exterior walls in your house, and find out that a minimum of R22 is needed for an above-ground exterior wall. That means you’ll need about $4 per square yard of material. So if you were to insulate your entire house, you’d spend $800.
New Home Spray Foams Costs
The typical price for an insulated wall system for a single-family residence ranges between $6,000-$8,000 per 1000 sq ft. For one thousand-square-foot house, the price can vary between $6,000 – $8,000.
To get an idea of what the ideal budget for your business might be, here are three simple steps to follow.
· Figure out which type of insulation you need.
· Choose an appropriate thickness for your application.
· Calculate the square footage
· Multiply the number of rooms by their size (square feet) times their price per square feet
Factors that might affect the price include:
· The condition of the building
· Accessibility of the area
· The size and shape of the studs
· Ventilation of the area
· You need to keep an eye out for any potential hazards in the working environment
